Through a unique combination of client centered counseling, sand tray therapy, yoga and mindfulness practices, Jamie Hanley (she/her/hers) supports clients as they navigate through difficult times.
Since graduating with a Masters in Psychological Counseling from Monmouth University in 2013, Jamie has worked in a variety of mental health settings including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization treatment for eating disorders and general mental health. She believes that a trusting relationship is the foundation for healing. Jamie is trained in EMDR, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Sand Tray Therapy, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and Positive Psychology. She incorporates holistic practices such as mindfulness, breath work, meditation, yoga, and guided relaxation into therapeutic sessions. Jamie has worked with clients diagnosed with bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, cancer, infertility, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and chronic pain.
Since 2007, Jamie has practiced Yoga Therapy and specializes in offering yoga to mental health populations. She has shared yoga with several treatment programs including eating disorders, substance abuse, at-risk adolescents, andat a therapeutic high school. She has researched and facilitated speciality groups on the effects of yoga for anxiety and depression.
In 2021, Jamie brought The Spiritual Counselor podcast to life, creating a platform for intentional discussions about spirituality and mental health. Early in 2022, she published her first book, The Anxious Goddess Workbook: A Survival Guide for the Modern Moonchild, as well as an ancillary coloring book and therapy toolkit.
Jamie resides near the Jersey shore with her partner, two kiddos, and kitty. She loves to snuggle her family, spend time in nature, play with crystals and card decks, and sit outside by the fire pit.
